Apples and Pear can sharply reduce your stroke risk by half

Apples and Pear

An estimated eight hundred thousand (800,000) people per year have a stroke in the United States alone and this easily avoidable health condition is the 5th leading cause of death in America.

Even those who survive a stroke are most often left with
some serious disability, including the loss of muscle functioning and motor control in portions of the body.

However, exciting research results out of Holland has shown that the simple act of adding or consuming more apples and pears as part of your daily diet can help to prevent occurrence of stroke up to 52%.

These researchers believe that because of the high content of a compound called quercetin, a potent antioxidant in white-fleshed fruits is what gives apple and pear their healing power.

Of course, it should also be noted that most vegetables and fruits that have white flesh tend to be loaded with QUERCITIN, not just in apples and pears.

Pear

The more apples and pears you eat, the lower your risk of stroke.

For the study, twenty thousand (20,000) people kept detailed records about the foods they ate daily over a period of ten(10) year period. When the data was finally analyzed, it showed that participants who ate high amounts of fruits with white flesh, in particular pears and apples, showed a 52% reduced risk of having a stroke.

For every additional 25 gram of fruits and vegetables a person consumed, their risk of stroke fell by nine percent (9%). This confirms the old adage which says "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" seems to also apply to strokes.

Quercetin, in apples and pears, is the key to eliminate blood clots

One of the biggest stroke risk factors includes increased cholesterol level and high blood pressure. Smoking is also another risk factor and quitting smoking while also eating more pears and apples has been shown to sharply reduce stroke risk even further.

Also, family history/pedigree analysis plays an important role in overall stroke risk, but lifestyle choices (without any doubt) can make all the difference in avoiding this "silent killer"  in your older years.

Quercetin found in increased amounts of white-fleshed fruits has the potential to support cellular health and functioning. It also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines which is also known to help in blood clotting regulation.

We shouldn't also forget that clogged arteries/arteriosclerosis are the main cause of a stroke and as a result, diet is also a sensible way to maintain a healthy circulatory system.
