  • Firming Mask for the skin -- A tablespoon of honey stirred together with an egg white (albumen), 1 teaspoon of glycerin and quarter (1/4) cup of flour makes a good and excellent firming mask. Just smooth it on the affected part, leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. You will be pleased with the results.
  • Skin Moisturizer: Honey also makes a great moisturizing pack. Mix 2 spoons of honey with 2 spoons of whole milk, apply it to the face and throat and then allow it for 15 minutes. The rinse off using warm water, finish splashing using cold water.

  • Remedy for Dry Patches: Natural honey also makes a great lotion to cure dry patches of skin on hands, elbows, or other parts. simply mix a teaspoon of honey with same measure of olive oil and half spoonful of squeezed lemon juice. Gently apply to elbows, hands, heels of your foot etc. wash is off with water after 15 minutes. Fast relief!

  • Remedy for Acne and Chapped Lips: Honey works effectively on chapped lips and also for acne because of its antibacterial properties.

  • As Conditioner for Dull Hair: To give your hair lustrous shine, add one teaspoon of honey into four cups of warm water. Use it to rinse your hair. And if you are a blond, just add the juice of one lemon, too.

  • As Antibacterial Mouthwash: Mix a tablespoon of honey with one cup of warm water. Use it as a mouthwash. Honey cleans teeth, dentures, and also kills germs in the mouth.

Is there any side effects?

There are no known reported side effects to honey when used in moderation. However, it's highly recommended that raw honey should not be given to infants under the age of 1 year. This is due to the fact that it may have the potential of carrying honey C. botulinum spores which may be very harmful to the undeveloped immune systems of infants.
